In short

What LYD Plumber does for a plumbing business

LYD Plumber gives a plumbing, gas or drainage business an AI receptionist that answers and triages calls, instant texts for every missed call, a CRM that follows up quotes, a website that ranks for the jobs you want, and date-based reminders for compliance paperwork and recurring services. It works alongside the job software you already use.

Night and weekend calls

Emergency callers ring until someone answers. The AI answers first and routes urgent jobs to your on-call plumber.

Calls during jobs

Every missed call gets a text in your business name within seconds, with a booking link.

Quotes left hanging

Hot water replacements and relines are big quotes. Follow-up runs automatically until the customer decides.

Deadlines in your head

Certificate of Compliance lodgement windows and annual backflow tests, tracked against every job.

Rules of the trade

Built around how plumbing is regulated in Australia

  • Plumbing, drainage and gasfitting need a state or territory licence at any job value, and your website shows your licence details where required.
  • In Victoria, the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) replaced the VBA on 1 July 2025. We never refer Victorian plumbers to the VBA.
  • In New South Wales, a Notice of Work is given before regulated work and a Certificate of Compliance is lodged within two business days of finishing. The CRM can remind you of both.
  • Testable backflow devices are tested every year under water authority rules, which makes them reminder-driven repeat work.

General information only, checked November 2026. Rules differ by state and change over time: confirm with your regulator. LYD Plumber keeps records and sends reminders; it does not lodge certificates or give compliance advice.

Questions

Questions plumbers ask

  • Yes. It asks what is happening and where, and sends urgent jobs such as burst pipes and no hot water straight to your on-call plumber, with a text summary. It never gives gas, electrical or water safety advice. For a reported gas leak it tells the caller to leave the area and call their gas distributor emergency line or 000, then alerts your on-call plumber.
  • No. It records the dates and reminds your team, for example for Certificates of Compliance and annual backflow tests. The licensed plumber still lodges the paperwork with the regulator.
  • Yes. Water authorities such as Hunter Water and Yarra Valley Water require testable backflow devices to be tested every year. The CRM stores each device test date and sends the customer a reminder with a booking link before it is due.
  • No. The Victorian Building Authority was replaced by the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) on 1 July 2025, and everything we write for Victorian plumbers refers to the BPC.
  • LYD Plumber works alongside the job management software you already use. It captures and follows up the work, and your job system keeps running the job. We will confirm the connection for your software during your demo.
  • The trial is on the Launch plan. There is no set-up fee, and the AI receptionist and chatbots are included. Your card is taken at sign-up and charged on day 31 unless you cancel. During the trial you get our ready-made template set-up; the full done-for-you set-up starts when you pay.
