For Perth plumbers and handymen

Perth plumbers juggle long drives, Notices of Intention and minor-work records on top of the work itself. LYD Plumber gives Perth plumbing and handyman businesses an AI receptionist, missed-call text-back, a CRM and a website, set up for Western Australia rules: Plumbers Licensing Board, supported by Building and Energy as the regulator, and reminders for the paperwork that applies there.

What is different in Perth

Built around how Perth trades work

Notice of Intention

Major plumbing work needs a Notice of Intention at least 24 hours before it starts. A task created when the job is booked makes sure it goes in.

Minor-work records

Since 1 January 2020 WA contractors keep a record of all minor plumbing work. The CRM keeps that record automatically on every completed job.

Typical service area we set up: Greater Perth, from Joondalup to Rockingham and out to the hills.

Who regulates plumbing

Plumbers Licensing Board, supported by Building and Energy. Licenses plumbing contractors and receives plumbing notices.

WA plumbing contractors are licensed through the Plumbers Licensing Board, with Building and Energy administering licensing and the eNotice lodgement system.

Paperwork that applies

  • A Notice of Intention is lodged at least 24 hours before major plumbing work starts, except emergency work.
  • A Certificate of Compliance is lodged within five working days of completing major plumbing work. For emergency work, the notice goes in with the certificate.
  • Minor plumbing work no longer needs a certificate, but since 1 January 2020 contractors must keep a record of all minor plumbing work they complete.
  • Notices and certificates can be lodged online through eNotice.

Handyman licence limit

More than $20,000 needs a licence or registration

In most cases, only a registered building services contractor can contract for or carry out builder work where the total fee or charge is more than $20,000.
