For Brisbane plumbers and handymen

Brisbane plumbers know the pattern: a summer storm, then a wave of urgent calls at once. LYD Plumber gives Brisbane plumbing and handyman businesses an AI receptionist, missed-call text-back, a CRM and a website, set up for Queensland rules: Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) as the regulator, and reminders for the paperwork that applies there.

What is different in Brisbane

Built around how Brisbane trades work

Storm-season triage

The AI receptionist sorts genuine emergencies from routine work, sends urgent jobs to the on-call plumber and books the rest for business hours.

Form 4 deadlines

Notifiable work is registered with the QBCC within 10 business days of completing the work. A reminder from the invoice date keeps it on time.

Typical service area we set up: Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton Bay and the Redlands.

Plumbing and handyman rules in Queensland

Who regulates plumbing

Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). Licenses plumbers, drainers and building contractors.

Plumbing and drainage are occupational work in Queensland. An occupational licence is needed to perform or supervise plumbing or drainage work at any value, and a QBCC contractor licence is needed to contract for it.

Paperwork that applies

  • Notifiable plumbing and drainage work is registered with the QBCC on a Form 4 (or Form 4A for public sector work) within 10 business days of completing the work. The clock usually starts when the invoice is issued.
  • Forms can be lodged through the QBCC Portal, and a nominated representative can register work on a licensee behalf.

Handyman licence limit

Up to $3,300 needs a licence or registration

A handyman does not need a QBCC licence for building work valued at $3,300 or less, as long as it is not electrical or plumbing work and does not need an occupational licence.
