For Geelong plumbers and handymen

Geelong plumbers and handymen serve the city, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast, with very different jobs in each. LYD Plumber gives Geelong plumbing and handyman businesses an AI receptionist, missed-call text-back, a CRM and a website, set up for Victoria rules: Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) as the regulator, and reminders for the paperwork that applies there.

What is different in Geelong

Built around how Geelong trades work

Same BPC rules

Geelong work follows the same BPC compliance certificate rules as Melbourne, so the same reminders apply.

Holiday homes

Coastal holiday homes are often empty when something goes wrong. Keeping the owner, the property manager and access details together in the CRM saves a phone round.

Typical service area we set up: Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast.

Plumbing and handyman rules in Victoria

Who regulates plumbing

Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC). Replaced the Victorian Building Authority (VBA) on 1 July 2025.

The Building and Plumbing Commission began on 1 July 2025, bringing together the functions of the VBA, Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria and the domestic building insurance arm of the VMIA. Victorian plumbers hold either a registration or a higher-level licence in each class of work, and only a licensed plumber can sign a compliance certificate.

Paperwork that applies

  • A licensed plumber must issue a compliance certificate when the total value of the work, including materials, appliances, labour and GST, is more than $750.
  • The certificate is issued within five days of completing the work.
  • Compliance certificates bought from 22 September 2025 expire 12 months after purchase, so unused stock needs watching.

Handyman licence limit

More than $10,000 needs a licence or registration

Domestic building work costing more than $10,000, including labour and materials, needs a builder registered with the BPC, and the same value triggers a major domestic building contract.
